School cancels Christmas events in "respect" for Muslims

Greenwood Junior School sent out a letter to parents saying the three day festival of Eid al-Adha, which takes place between 8-11 December, meant that Muslim children would be off school.

That meant planning for a traditional pantomime were shelved because the school felt it would be too difficult to run both celebrations side by side. The move has left parents furious.

Janette Lynch, whose seven-year-old son Keanu attends the school, in Sneinton, Nottingham, said: "The head has a whole year to plan for Eid and so she should be able to plan for both religious festivals.

"I have never heard of this at a school. It is the first year my son has been there and a lot of the mums like me were really looking forward to seeing the children on stage.”

She said a letter, sent from “The staff at Greenwood Junior School', said: "It is with much regret that we have had to cancel this year's Christmas performances. This is due to the Eid celebrations that take place next week and its effect on our performers.”

Following outrage from parents, the school was forced to send out a second letter saying that the Christmas play would be done in January.

Sent by the head teacher, Amber Latif, and Yvonne Wright, chair of governors, it apologized for “any misunderstanding” but said it had to respect “the cultures and religions of all the children”.

It added: "The Christmas performance has not been canceled outright but has been postponed until the New Year.”

Parents said they were originally told the performance was cancelled because children wanted to celebrate Eid with their families at home, and planning of the school year made it difficult to move performance dates to another week.

Sajad Hussain, 35, of who has two children at Greenwood Junior, said: "My children will be off for the two days next week to see their family.

"It's not that complicated; they could have one event on one day and another on another day, they should have both celebrations at the school.

"If you do not have both it becomes a racist thing and that's why you have to be careful If an issue is made out of it, it could become nasty."

Yesterday, a statement issued by Greenwood Junior, said: "We would like to apologise for any confusion caused as a result of [the original] letter we sent out and would like to reassure parents and the community that Christmas has not been canceled at Greenwood Junior School.

"For very practical reasons we have taken the difficult decision to re-arrange some significant events on the school calendar to ensure maximum pupil and staff attendance.”

Pro-Isreal activist killed in San Francisco

It was a bizarre and abrupt way to die for a man who, by all accounts, went at life full-bore and was fit and agile from riding his bicycle everywhere he went.

But as San Francisco police combed over the evidence Tuesday, investigators said this is what appears to have happened: Dr. Daniel J. Kliman, an Alameda physician and one of the Bay Area's foremost pro-Israel activists, stepped into an open elevator shaft by accident last week and died.

His body was found Monday by workers inspecting an elevator in the historic, nine-story Sharon Building at 55 New Montgomery St., where Kliman apparently plunged to his death Nov. 25. As news of the discovery filtered out Tuesday, his supporters and friends were in near disbelief that someone so dynamic could be gone.

"The first words that come to mind for me when I think of Daniel are 'vibrant' and 'alive,' " said Rabbi Judah Dardik of Beth Jacob Congregation, the orthodox synagogue in Oakland where Kliman was an active member. "That's why this is such a shock. Whenever he was in the room, he was such a huge presence."

The Jewish mother murdered in the brutal Mumbai terror attacks last week was six month pregnant, her father revealed today at her funeral. And Rivkah Holtzberg's two-year-old son, Moshe, may have been beaten by the militants, reports have claimed. His back was covered in bruises consistent with abuse, the chairman of Zaka, Israel's ultraorthodox recovery service, told Sky News. Today Moshe's grandfather revealed that his daughter Rivkah had been six months pregnant as he gave a eulogy at her funeral. Rivka and her husband, Gabi, were buried in Israel along with four other victims of the attacks. Throngs of mourners today packed the funerals of the six victims, turning the narrow alleys of one Jerusalem neighborhood into a sea of black coats and hats. A huge crowd gathered outside the red-brick Israeli headquarters of the Chabad movement, whose emissary to Mumbai, Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg, 29, was murdered along with his 28-year-old wife, Rivkah. Those in attendance included President Shimon Peres and a slew of other dignitaries. Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, a Chabad official from New York, delivered an impassioned eulogy, describing the young couple as dedicated people who would stop at nothing to help a fellow Jew.

"We will answer the terrorists," he vowed, his voice shaking. "We will not fight them with AK-47s. We will not fight them with grenades. We will not fight them with tanks."

"We will fight them with torches!" he cried, referring to God's teachings.

He pledged to rebuild the Mumbai center and name it after the Holtzbergs. Chabad operates thousands of such outreach centers around the world. Addressing the crowd, Peres called on the world to unite in the fight against terrorism. He singled out Iran, which supports anti-Israel militant groups and whose president has called for Israel's destruction.

"If the entire world doesn't join together as one man and say 'enough!,' then the world is in danger. This is a plague that is difficult to stop," he said.

The Holtzbergs' bodies, hers wrapped in a shroud and his in a prayer shawl, rested on chairs on the dais where the eulogies and prayers were delivered. There are already fears that Moshe witnessed his parents' murder after he was found by his nanny crying next to their bodies, covered in blood. She dashed him to safety before commandos launched an attack on the Jewish house in which the terrorists were holding the family hostage last week. In an emotional scene before the flight to Israel yesterday, Moshe repeatedly cried for his mother at a tearful memorial ceremony at a Mumbai synagogue. The scene was broadcast repeatedly on Israeli TV stations.

"You don't have a mother who will hug you and kiss you," Rabbi Kotlarsky cried out during a eulogy that switched back and forth between Hebrew and English.

"You are the child of all of Israel." he vowed to Moshe.

"Moshe has not slept in four days," the rabbi who found his father's body told The Times. "Now, the nanny, Sandra Samuel, is the only person that Moshe responds to." his family told Sky News.

Yesterday she and Moshe flew to Israel on the same plane that was carrying his parents' bodies. His family have asked her to stay and live in Israel as they struggle to come to terms with the trauma of the attack. In addition to Peres, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel's two chief rabbis were among the thousands who attended the nationally televised ceremony. Most of the people who came were bearded men in the black suits and black fedoras of Chabad members. Women gathered behind a yellow metal partition, in accordance with the Jewish custom of separating the sexes during prayer.

Personally, my heart cries for the people of Mumbai, the people of India, and the people of the world. It is evident that the heartless Muslim extremists will stop at nothing to kill the Jewish people, no matter how innocent the causalties.

Puppet Paulson Still Denies Financial Depression as Markets Tumble

Earlier today on Wall Street, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson appeared to be a stunned animal as he took questions from an eager audience. As hundreds watched the doomed businessman answer question after question in a blind daze, the long awaited closing bell finally rung. The economy fell 641 points today. As reporters hammered the secretary with more and more criticism, he finally ended the day with a stern,

"It is not my decision when this country is in a depression, its just my job to make sure it doesn't come to it."

Well, Henry Paulson must be hiding from the facts. The National Bureau of Economic Research said Monday that the U.S. has been in a recession since December 2007, making official what most Americans have already believed about the state of the economy. If Paulson himself cannot see the failings of himself and his staff, how is he supposed to keep our country out of a depression when he cannot admit when we are in one?
As the holiday season approaches, many families will not be able to afford the high priced gifts that they have indulged in previously. Even as gas prices fall people will not drive as they need time to pay off the excess that they went over on their credit cards. There is no doubt that the Obama administration will bring many changes that even I, a hardcore conservative, cannot wait to see fall into place.

Islamo-Fascists Murder 171 In Mumbai, India

Jewish victims made up a disproportionate number of the foreigners killed after 10 Muslim fanatics stormed a series of sites in the Indian financial capital.

Members of the beleaguered Jewish community in Mumbai gathered at a crumbling synagogue for a memorial for Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife Rivka, who ran the cultural centre targeted by the Deccan Mujahideen.

The couple's son, Moshe survived after his nanny, Sandra Samuel escaped with him in her arms 10 hours after the hostage incident started. The child cried "Ima" and "Dada," or mummy and daddy, as the service began.

Moshe's grandparents have arrived from Israel to take the orphaned boy home and there is intense pressure to grant Miss Samuel a visa by declaring her righteous among the gentiles.

Two countries have posted officials at the JJ Hospital morgue but there are at least twice as many Israeli disaster specialists as British consuls representing the former colonial power.

Israeli officials confirmed six Jews were dead but the figure is likely to rise to eight. The total number of foreigners killed in the attacks stands at 22.

A forensic team arrived on a specially chartered flight on Sunday night. "There are still a few yet to be identified – not a lot, under five – and this is why we need the forensic team," an Israeli diplomat said. "And there are two or three Israelis unaccounted for and we have a couple of bodies that could be them."

One man who served a glass of water to a terrorist at Bombay's main railway station was shot in the forehead.

T. Boone Pickens' commercial sounds like a good idea. It actually is a good idea; but much of what Pickens almost everything that Pickens says is false and misleading. In the TV commercial‚ Pickens is quick to point out that "700 billion dollars are leaving this country to foreign nations every year". Pickens says this as if it is the US government that is sending the money to these countries, while in reality it is the oil companies, you know, the evil Exxon and British Petroleum, that are taking the blow. Next Pickens explains that this will be "the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind". Here Pickens makes it seem that it is truly a "transfer of wealth", which is just incorrect. In return for the 700 billion dollars we recieve the staple of life itself in the US, crude oil. What Pickens means to say is that this will be a basic PURCHASE between two companies, not at all a "transfer" of wealth. Last, Pickens pushes his new plans for wind and natural gas. Pickens is in no way an unintelligent person. He knows that advertising is a main part of business. Nowhere in this statement, or anywhere on his personal website does he mention his personal $4,000,000,000 investment in both wind energy and natural gas! It is easy to abandon oil when it has nothing less to offer you, which is exactly what smart investor T. Boone Pickens has done. The Pickens' Plan is nothing but an ad for a single man's personal financial gain.

How Liberals Benefit From Global Warming

Since 1999, the American left has been pushing the agenda that humans cause global warming. They claim that carbon emissions are causing a climate change. What most regular people do not know is that this is only a ploy by the liberals to benefit themselves while destroying the businesses that are successful. The first thing that liberals and activists have done to make a fortune is to sell carbon credits. Carbon credits are mere slips of paper that acknowledge that the person has paid money equal to their personal carbon emissions. They try to trigger guilt by using misleading phrases and partial facts to incriminate the human race as the cause of climate change. One carbon credit is worth about 10 US dollars, and most credits are issued in sets of 20. Those that issue these credits claim that the proceeds go to scientists who study the effects of carbon on the environment. A second way that liberals have benefited from the global warming scam is by giving speeches to mezmorized patsies about global warming. It is on record that Al Gore has made from $20,000 to over $500,000 on single speeches. Bill Clinton charges a uniform $150,000 for his environmentlly fueled speeches. Here it is clear to see that liberals in America have much more to gain from global warming then they all admit.
